Knowledge Transfer
Partnership Associate
In February 2014 Kali Demes was appointed as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership Associate with GIL and the University of Essex. Kali is a graduate of the University of Essex, with both a BSc and PhD in Psychology, with a research background in social, cultural and health psychology. Through this work Kali has gained experience in the development and implementation of both experimental and correlational research, survey design and associated data handling and data analytic techniques. Kali was the named researcher on an especially innovative study funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, in which over 2000 intercultural sojourners were followed for a period of 18 months, via nine online surveys administered at stages before, during and after a year abroad. Kali’s current research with GIL and the University of Essex concerns corporate values and the challenge that organisations face in ensuring they live by the values that are important to them and their employees. The key objectives of this project are to develop 1) a survey based tool for establishing value-behaviour gaps in organisations and 2) an associated change management programme to actively address this.
